So much of your post resonated with me, Hayley. I absolutely agree about the need to accept and be content with who we are, and how much better things would be if we all slowed down and stopped wanting more. You put it into words so well.
And I love your photos - especially the back lit teasels :-)
Beautiful photos! I love the barn owl and yes I totally agree how nature and a simple life is all we need to be peaceful. We are always enough just as we are 🌻🌱
Hayley, your journey towards self-acceptance is truly inspiring. I love how you embrace the simple moments and the idea of a "good-enough life" — it’s such a refreshing way to slow down and appreciate what truly matters. Your words are a gentle reminder to trust that everything we need is within us already. Thank you for sharing this beautiful reflection ❤️
I can relate to being hyper-conscious about what people think of you. But I'm proud that you broke through your fears and started this substack, sharing your writing and thoughts with the world. That you stopped living in the shadows and instead emerged into the light. Keep on doing that, Hayley 🤍
Hayley, thank you for being so raw and honest! Sometimes the only way forward is through and with time, patience, (maybe age?) we might come to the realization, like you did, that you ARE enough and perfect as you are. The only reactions we can control are our own. Your connection with nature is your peace and you share that so beautifully with your writing and your pictures. I like (and agree!) with the things you value: kindness, calmness, inner peace and authenticity! Keep shining your beautiful light!
I've kept coming back to your post and re-reading it often since you published it. So much of your thoughts resonated with me, I'm still a bit lost for words. I'm so glad that you've found a way out of the shadows and self-doubt, found inner peace and calm and the courage to show up as your wonderful true self! I'm so with you on a "good-enough life" as well. Thank you for sharing your beautiful writing and photos with us! 🩷
Lovely Lady ❤️, beautiful mind wanna send photos, but I've lost my phone and I'm crappy at technology...... I'll sort it out and send rare shot's of my meanderings, deer Hayley x
